JoEllen Sessa
Principal / Lead Designer
JoEllen Sessa didn’t arrive in the design world by accident — she was shaped by two decades in Boston’s arts and entertainment scene, where she learned how spaces make people feel long before she ever selected a tile sample. That chapter sharpened her instincts for composition, flow, and the subtle art of making a room resonate with its owner’s spirit, personality, and character.
As a Certified Interior Designer and Allied Member of ASID, Jo brings a worldly, cultivated, and quietly discerning eye to every project. Her work blends a clean, modern sensibility with an undercurrent of sophistication — the kind that comes from years of travel, a love of global design, and an appreciation for the way culture, fashion, and art shape the way we live. She believes in classic design with true longevity, not the fleeting thrill of the trend du jour.
Today, as Principal of O.M. Design Group, Jo leads a small, intentionally hands on team that has completed projects from Arizona to Nantucket, Chicago to Telluride. Her portfolio spans both residential and commercial environments, each shaped with the same commitment to clarity, intention, and a deeply personal design experience. Jo has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Africa, and beyond — experiences that continue to shape her perspective and deepen her appreciation for global craftsmanship and timeless design traditions. Her work often carries a quiet thread of European elegance, reflected in the custom furniture, curated materials, and architectural details she sources to make every space feel considered rather than prescribed. She opened her Design Studio in 2014 to give clients access to these elevated options and a process rooted in collaboration and trust.
Her approach is simple: listen closely, design thoughtfully, and create spaces that feel like the people — and the purposes — they serve. Clients trust her for her clarity, her transparency, and her uncanny ability to translate personal details and organizational identity into environments that feel natural, cohesive, and quietly refined.
When she’s not in the studio or on a job site, Jo is usually planning her next adventure, skiing somewhere with actual snow, or exploring new restaurants with her husband. She also loves to entertain and cook for friends and family. At home, she’s often joined by LadyBug — the team’s unofficial mascot and a steady, four legged presence in the studio.
